Mining
The mining method for the Río Manzanas project will be open pit mining, with conventional drilling, blasting, and loading performed on 10m benches. This method is commonly used in mining projects and involves removing the overburden and extracting the ore using heavy equipment.
Once the ore is extracted, it will be transported to the on-site processing plant. The raw silicon dioxide will undergo several stages of processing, starting with crushing, washing, and screening. This process will break down the material into smaller pieces, remove impurities and prepare it for transport.
The processing of the material is relatively simple, which is advantageous for the Company as it reduces the complexity and cost of the production process. The processed SiO2 will be loaded onto trucks for transportation to customers within all of Europe, America, and Asia.
The use of conventional drilling, blasting, and loading methods for open pit mining can be cost-effective and efficient, especially when applied to large scale mining operations such as the Río Manzanas project. The method enables the Company to access the large deposits of silicon dioxide in the area while keeping costs low.
The mining method used in the Río Manzanas project is well-suited to the mining of silicon dioxide. The combination of open pit mining and on-site processing allows for efficient extraction and preparation of the raw material for transport to customers around the world. The relatively simple processing method also adds to the project's appeal.
